YEAR SEVEN HOMEWORK

Term 1 (First Half) WHO AM I?

 

1. Personalise the front of your homework sketchbook. Use whatever materials you have. Include your name and form. Show your personality.

2. Decorate your viewfinder. Remember to include your name and form. Don’t forget to colour both sides.

3. Draw yourself as a young child or a baby (copy from a photograph). Work in pencil. Shade your work.

4. Write about your favourite memory. Use a full page.

5. Illustrate your written work using any materials. Use a full page

  Term 1 (Second Half) MULTICULTURAL

 

1. Choose a word or a phrase and write it out in 3 different alphabets, e.g. Egyptian, Chinese, Urdu, and Arabic. Label each one.

2. Research African Masks. Look at shapes, decoration, colour etc. Copy at least two and annotate your work.

3. Design an African Mask using ideas from your research. Use any materials.

4. Draw around your hand. Decorate the shape with Henna patterns. Use colour.

5. Design a postage stamp for any country. You could include a flag or a famous building. Include the value in the relevant currency.

 

 
Term 2 (First Half) CONFLICT

 

1. Copy and enlarge ‘The Cry’ by Edvard Munch. Work in pencil. Write about what you think is happening in the picture.

2. Copy an Op Art image. Use 2 contrasting colours to colour it. Use a colour circle to help.

3. Find a copy of ‘Guernica’ by Pablo Picasso. Copy a section from it that shows the effects of conflict. Write about why you chose this section.

4. Make an abstract drawing showing a good relationship between a parent and child. Look at work by Keith Haring to help you with the figures.

5. Draw an angry face. You may work from a photograph, magazine picture or a real person. Use pencil.

  Term 2 (Second Half) TECHNOLOGY

 

1. Using squared paper, draw a pattern based on pipe work, machinery and tubes. Look at work by Edwardo Paolozzi.

2. Draw a plug from an electrical appliance. Use pencil only. Make it look 3 dimensional. Shade your work.

3. Design a logo for a radio station. Think about the lettering, image and colour. You could use computer software to do this if you wish. Print it out and stick it in your sketchbook.

4. Draw and colour your own piece of work based on ‘La Ville’ (The City) by Fernand Leger.

5. Design an outfit for the future. Use colour. It could be for male or female.

 

 
Term 3 (First Half) GLOBALISATION

 

Five week homework. You will be given an A5 booklet to make a magazine about the world.

Your Art teacher will look at it every lesson.

1. Think of a name for your magazine and design the front cover.

 Choose 3 topics from this list:

Fashion, traditions, music, animals, tourist attractions.

2. Do two sides on a topic from the list.

3. Do two sides on a topic from the list.

4. Do two sides on a topic from the list.

5. On the back cover, draw 6 flags from around the world. Colour and label them.

  Term 3 (Second Half) THE ENVIRONMENT/FUTURE OF THE PLANET

 

1. Three week homework. Work A3 size. You will be provided with the paper. Create a mixed media piece based on the theme of ‘Cityscape’.

2. Design a poster encouraging people to grow their own fruit and vegetables.

3. Draw and colour your perfect environment. Use any materials.

    these are very good i am a year 7 myself, my teacher really explains it to us so we do really well on our homework’s
