Year 11 Art Exam Exhibition

Here are some photos and video of the Art exhibition that was up in Brookside Gym.  Lots of you managed to see it and enjoyed the wide variety of work it displayed.

There will be a Showcase Art Exhibition taking place ath The Manchester College (Harpurhey) in July where this work and more will be on display.

Year 11 ART EXAM EXHIBITION – Student view!

You are invited to come to view the exhibition in Brookside Gym on WEDNESDAY 25th MAy from 3pm – 5pm.

You will be given a slip of paper on entry to vote for your favourite Artist.  Favourites will be featured in this blog.

Come for 10 minutes or 2 hours!  It would be great to see you there to support your fellow students.

Year 9 Picnic Bench Project

A group of Year 9 girls have started work on producing a picnic bench that when complete we hope will be enjoyed and used by the students of this school.

MFL Art Appreciation

In MFL lessons this term, Year 7 have been looking at paintings by French and Spanish artists and learning to talk about them in a different language. They have learnt to describe the shapes and colours as well as giving their opinions of the paintings and comparing them with other pieces of art. Pablo Picasso – The Weeping Woman

 

Este cuadro es por Pablo Picasso. Naciό en Mάlaga en España en 1881, viviό en una casa Mougins en Francia y muriό en Francia en 1973.

Su estilo de cuadro es abstracto. Me encante sus cuadros porque son vistosos, creativos y felizes.

Este cuadro se llama ‘The Weeping Woman’. Es un cuadro muy famoso, es tambien de colores muy vives y emocionante.

En este cuadro puedo ver un a rayas fondo amarillo, naranja y marŕon detras la mujer abstracta. Tambien en este cuadro hay muchas formas diferente.

Puedo ver dos triangulos azules oscuro y rojos (para pelos). De bajo los triangulos hay dos estrellas negras dentro de dos circulos blancos (para ojos). También puedo ver más formas a la izquierda de estas formas.

Me gusta el cuadro de Dali ‘Swans Reflecting Elephants’ porque es detallado y surreal, sin embargo el cuadro de Picasso es menos apagado que el Dali. Porque de esta prefiero el cuadro de Picasso ‘The Weeping Woman’.

       ¡El Jardín!

El cuadro ‘El Jardín’ es bonito y alegre. El estilo es abstracto y de color es muy vivo. ¡Me encanta este cuadro porque es feliz, abstracto y claro! ¡Me gusta este cuadrado mas que ‘Weeping Woman’ porque es mas alegre! En esta pintura hay un pájaro negro. Detrás el pájaro hay formas de color es muy vivos. En mi opinión ‘El Jardín’ es feliz, tranquilo, bonito y alegre.

Swans reflecting elephants

Este cuadro se llama “Swans Reflecting Elephants”. Este cuadro es por Salvatore Dali. En este cuadro hay un triángulo blanco. Hay tambien tres cisnes blancos y tres elephants gris. Los elephants son de bajo del cisnes.

El fondo es claro azul. Hay líneas marŕones curva. Este cuadro es oscuro y tranquilo sin embargo “El Jardín” por Joan Miró es alegre colorido. El cuadro es muy creativo y imaginativo . Veo rocas negro y morrenos , ramas morrenos y un hombre. Las ramas son detras del cisnes pero el hombre está a la izquierda al lado de los cisnes.

Me gusta este cuadro por que es muy creativo y abstracto sin embargo prefiero “El Jardín” por Joan Miró.

Bike Art!

What happens when Art and PE get together?

Mix up some bikes, paint and a roll of paper and tou end up with some interesting murals.

Ms Savage and her Year 10 class created some unusual Art work today!  Instead of signatures on this work the class printed their hands and feet.

Year 7 Art activity delivered by year 11 BTEC students

Today year 11 BTEC students delivered techniques including screen printing and mould making to a form of year 7′s. The starting point was Aboriginal Art.  All girls enjoyed the experience and year 7′s found the year 11 students very helpful.  Well done to all of them.
